CRAFTING AT NIGHT

Roll cigarettes, fill up bottles, write erotic letters, and more! Be sure to stash your goods well, or they will be snatched by the guards!

TRADING DURING THE DAY

Cash in on your illegal handiwork by selling it to your fellow inmates. You can also complete special jobs to earn reputation along with useful rewards!

PIMP YOUR CELL

Create your perfect workshop by freely placing the furniture you buy where you want it! Add some posters on the wall or lamps to give it some style! But keep it functional; you’ll need space to hide your contraband and your money stacks from the guards!

The story behind the game

Prison Boss VR started as a university project initiated by our three co-founders!
Was it the game that launched the studio or the studio that launched the game? It’s the classic chicken-or-egg dilemma! Either way, this student project became Trebuchet’s very first game.
The mechanics and art direction, while creative, were actually shaped by very practical constraints. Why a prison? It allowed us to easily integrate room-scale technology by setting the gameplay inside a cell. And why egg-shaped characters? Because they were simple to model in 3D when the team was just getting started.
